Webinar: The Current Deployment and Future Opportunities for Key Enabling Technologies in Maritime Industry
September 18, 11:00 CET
With Dmitri Petrovykh, Corporate Expert at INL
To fuel technology-driven sustainable economic growth, the European Commission has identified six Key Enabling Technologies (KETs): micro and nanoelectronics, nanotechnology, industrial biotechnology, advanced materials, photonics, and advanced manufacturing technologies.
The enabling nature of these technologies means in part that their current role and extent of deployment are not always clearly visible, so a few examples from maritime industry will be presented.
Future opportunities will be highlighted as well, particularly for KETs with transversal and cross-sectoral impacts in industries that stand to benefit from enhanced materials and structure-health monitoring.
Dmitri Petrovykh is a Corporate Expert at INL, using his broad expertise in science and technology to promote interdisciplinary research and development activities as well as productive partnerships with industry. Dmitri has two decades of research experience in nanotechnology and materials analysis. He is active in bridging communication and knowledge gaps between physical and life sciences and between laboratory research and technological applications.
